about
„Bis das Licht uns einnimmt“ invites to engage with the medium of photography – with the portrait as both a starting point and a mirror. Five artists from different generations – Margit Emmrich, Emanuel Mathias, Volker Renner, Anett Stuth, and Jule Würfel – open up very distinct perspectives on the face, the body, and the multilayered nature of being human.
Their works reveal how the portrait extends beyond its traditional boundaries: at times condensing into a quiet gesture, at times opening spaces for doubt and questioning, at times transforming into a new form of narration. What unites all these artistic positions is the desire to disrupt the seemingly familiar and sharpen our ways of seeing.
