States in Transit

States in Transit brought together works by Anja Rausch, Len Bay, and Wei Zhu. The exhibition was on view from March 13 to April 25, 2026.

The exhibition approached identity not as a fixed condition, but as a continuous process—constructed, performed, negotiated, and reshaped over time. Across sculpture and painting, the artists explored instability, transformation, and the material and social frameworks that shape the self.

From modular sculptural forms referencing engineered bodies and performative masculinity to painterly reflections on migration and personal narrative, States in Transit traced moments of transition. Forms shifted, meanings fractured, and identities remained in motion, proposing identity as something continuously reconfigured through lived experience and social context.
